Integrated Early Intervention Program (IEIP)

his is our flagship program, designed indigenously and tailored to suit the child’s ability, requirements, interests and preferences. The concept behind this program is the understanding of the inter-related nature of the delayed development in one area on the progress in other areas of the child’s development. To establish therapy goals the integrated intervention program begins with complete assessment of the child’s current skills. The age and skill level of the child is considered while setting age-appropriate treatment goals.  Different skill areas will be included in goals such as:

Language and communication

Speech Enhancement

Self-care and Self-Help practices

Play skills

Social behaviour skills

Academic skills/ Special education

Behaviour modification

Sensory integration

 

Techniques used in integrated intervention program include but not limited to:

 

Positive reinforcement: Children with special needs have a difficulty in focus and to sustain in a task, one strategy to boost up their focus and attention is to use positive reinforcement. This will encourage them to start and sustain in a task.

 

Reward system: This method will help therapist to motivate the child to attempt the task for multiple times and to sustain the task for longer time.

 

Prompts: Visual/verbal prompts are used to achieve a specific goals in learning. Prompts will be later faded away through full prompt- prompt fade- independent technique.

 

Task analysis: The therapist, based on the analysis of the child’s way of performing activities, works on making the task easier for the child, by breaking them down into steps that the child can understand. Therapist would fade these steps later.

 

Generalization: We use this method to apply what the child learnt in one structured environment to another free environment. A simple example, if the child was taught, to greet the therapist would help the child greeting others in other environments like home, school, etc.

 

**Behavior modification and  Speech Language and Communication program can be customized as a separate service for parents who would want to opt for only those rather than the integrated intervention program.

 

 

Early Intervention Services are special services for infants and toddlers at risk for developmental delays. These services are designed to identify and meet children’s needs in five developmental areas. These are physical, cognitive, communication, social or emotional development, sensory and adaptive development. 

Early intervention includes the provision of services to such children and their families to lessen the effects of the condition. 


Early intervention can be remedial or preventive—remediating the existing developmental problems or preventing their occurrence.

Early intervention typically targets children from birth to age 2, as this is a critical period for brain development and learning. Eligibility for early intervention services is based on an evaluation of your child’s skills and abilities.


Early intervention programs may include speech therapy, occupational therapy, and other types of services based on the needs of the child and family. The program can have a significant impact on a child’s ability to learn new skills and overcome challenges and can increase success in school and life
